Benjamin Logan boys’ golf beats Graham by one stroke, other Tuesday finals

The local boys golf season continued Tuesday with Urbana, Indian Lake and Benjamin Logan all taking part in nine-hole matches.

Benjamin Logan had the closest match of the three local teams, edging Graham by a single stroke, 221-222, at Cherokee Hills Golf Club.

AJ Bergman led the Raiders with a 53, followed by Keegan Lacher and Colson Knight, who each posted a 55.

Ashe Moorehouse added a 58 to round out the scoring for Benjamin Logan.

Joel Johnson finished with a 61, while Dane Reffner carded a 64.

The Raiders’ four scoring golfers combined for 221, giving Benjamin Logan the one-stroke victory over Graham in a tightly contested nine-hole match.

Indian Lake

Indian Lake was also on the road Tuesday, taking on North Union at Marion Country Club.

The Lakers came up short 165-178, with North Union pulling away by 13 strokes.

Jaxon Snipes led Indian Lake and finished with the team’s lowest score of the day, shooting a 40. Mason Berg and Crew McPherson followed with matching 44s.

Reid Roberts added a 48 to complete the Lakers’ team score, while Grant Wickline finished with a 49 and Jesse Carder shot a 52.

Indian Lake’s four scoring golfers combined for a 178, while North Union’s 165 proved to be enough for the victory.

Urbana

Urbana faced Tecumseh at Windy Knoll Golf Club, with the Hillclimbers falling 171-237.

Kelton McClain paced Urbana with a 54, followed by freshman Brant Markin with a 57. Nolan Smith added a 60, while Jackson Stacy and Lyle Rice each finished with a 66.

Jacob Stanforth also competed for Urbana and carded a 74.

Tecumseh’s 171 gave the Arrows a 66-stroke advantage over the Hillclimbers in the nine-hole match.
