The Quest Cup kicked off Friday night at Benjamin Logan with plenty of action on the pitch.
Jackson Center opened the night with a 2-0 win over Calvary Christian, sending the Spartans into Saturday’s consolation game.
They’ll face Fairlawn at 5:30 p.m. after the Jets were overpowered by host Benjamin Logan 16-0.
The Raiders’ blowout win was fueled by a record-setting night from senior Aidan Todd, who finished with seven goals and six assists.
His 20 total points smashed the previous program record of 12 in a single game.
Todd also set the new single-game goals mark (7) and tied the school assist record (6).
Luke Vesely scored three times, Gaven Jordan added two, while Ben Solano, Xavier Allen, Cason Bothel, and Brock Henry each chipped in a goal.
Landen Simon handed out three assists, with Solano adding two and Allen, Karson McCoy, and Isaac Skidmore each notching one.
In goal, Joe Meeker picked up his first career shutout with one save.
With the win, Benjamin Logan advances to Saturday’s championship at 7:30 p.m. against Jackson Center.
Elsewhere, Bellefontaine kicked off its season on the road at Piqua, falling 3-2 in a hard-fought match.
The Indians struck fast with goals in the first and 33rd minutes to lead 2-0 at the break, then extended their advantage to 3-0 early in the second half.
But the Chieftains refused to quit.
Ethan Turner, assisted by Grady Graham, got BHS on the board in the 36th minute, and Anderson Konz cut the deficit to one with a goal in the 5th minute of the second half.
Despite the rally, Bellefontaine couldn’t find the equalizer.
Bellefontaine (0-1) is back in action Tuesday, on the road at Kenton.
