Several area soccer teams were in action Monday night, with Benjamin Logan sweeping London in boys and girls action, West Liberty-Salem picking up a road win, and Bellefontaine falling to Kenton Ridge.
Benjamin Logan 5, London 0 (girls)
The Benjamin Logan girls soccer team recorded its fourth straight shutout Monday night with a 5-0 win over London.
Daylin Varner led the way with a hat trick, scoring three of the Raiders’ five goals. Paislee Rodenberger and Brooklyn Smedly also found the back of the net.
Lucy Johns recorded two assists, while Ella Stoodt and Varner each added an assist.
Avery Rogers recorded her sixth shutout of the season, tying the school record. The Raiders have now gone more than 360 minutes without allowing a goal.
Benjamin Logan remains on top of the CBC Mad River Division and improves to 8-2-1 on the season.
The Raiders will host Indian Lake Wednesday for Senior Night. The boys will play at 5:30 p.m., followed by the girls at 7:30 p.m.
Benjamin Logan 1, London 0 (boys)
The Benjamin Logan boys also came away with a shutout, defeating London 1-0 Monday night.
Gavin Jordan scored the lone goal with 30 minutes remaining, converting off a throw-in from Bode Clapsaddle.
The Raider defense, with Carter Phillips in goal, kept London off the scoreboard the rest of the way to secure the shutout.
Benjamin Logan improves to 5-3-3 on the season.
The Raiders will host Indian Lake Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. for Senior Night.
West Liberty-Salem 2, North Union 1 (girls)
The West Liberty-Salem girls soccer team picked up a 2-1 road victory over North Union Monday night in non-conference play.
Karlee Lucas and Avery Brown scored the two Tiger goals, while Arianna Weaver and Emily King each recorded an assist.
Ella Jacobs added a save in goal as West Liberty-Salem held off the Wildcats for the win.
The Tigers improve to 6-4-1 overall and 4-1-1 in conference play.
West Liberty-Salem returns home Thursday for Military Night, hosting Southeastern in conference action. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
Kenton Ridge 5, Bellefontaine 0 (boys)
The Bellefontaine boys soccer team fell to Kenton Ridge 5-0 Monday night.
Kenton Ridge scored three times before halftime and added two more goals in the second half.
Bellefontaine struggled to generate consistent offense against the Kenton Ridge defense and was unable to get on the scoreboard.
The Chieftains fall to 4-4-2 overall and 3-3 in CBC play.
Bellefontaine will look to bounce back Saturday when it travels to Northwestern for a 1 p.m. match.
