Benjamin Logan sweeps Shawnee; more Tuesday volleyball results

The Benjamin Logan Lady Raiders took to the road to play Shawnee Springfield in a CBC Mad River Division volleyball match on Tuesday evening. The program swept all three squads, going home with a win, with varsity taking the straight-set victory: 25-23, 25-17, 25-19.

Bellefontaine hosted London on Tuesday night in a Central Buckeye Conference Kenton Trail Division showdown. Despite a strong team effort, the Lady Chiefs came up short in four sets: 25-14, 18-25, 25-11, 25-21.

Senior Kelsie Snapp led the charge with an all-around performance, tallying 12 kills, 13 digs, a solo block, and a perfect 9-for-9 from the service line. Kaeleigh Flora added 7 kills and 8 digs, while Ava Layman contributed 7 kills and 10 digs. Jillian Ullom anchored the defense with 13 digs.

Presley Vigansky chipped in with 2 kills and 5 aces, and Madi Zedeker ran the offense with 26 assists, 4 kills, and a flawless 10-for-10 serving effort. Ari Rangel added 4 digs to the defensive effort.

The loss moves Bellefontaine to 9-3 on the season.

In junior varsity action:

JV Red dropped a hard-fought three-set match: 14-25, 25-13, 25-14.

Zoey Conner led the team with 8 kills, 11 digs, and 3 aces. Lyla Conner added 4 kills, and Ava Oppy had 9 digs while going 13-for-14 serving with an ace. Rosie Lightle dished out 9 assists and added 4 digs. Brooklyne Kuntz recorded 7 digs and served 10-for-10. Alyana Boyd was perfect from the line (6-for-6) with 5 assists and an ace. Lexey Brown added 3 kills, 5 digs, and 3 aces.

JV Black fell in straight sets: 25-13, 25-10.

Ariane Moser had 3 aces and a kill. Hailey Augustus, Rylyn Hoskins-Rose, and Addison Smith each added 2 kills. Lexi McKirahan led the defense with 9 digs and an ace, while Diana Martinez had 5 digs and perfect serving. Rosie Lightle added 7 digs and 4 assists.

The Chiefs return to action Thursday night when they host Shawnee in a CBC crossover match.

 

Indian Lake traveled to Graham on Tuesday evening and won in straight games.

The Indian Lake Varsity team won in straight sets: 25-7, 25-12, 25-8.

Riverside played Milton-Union on Tuesday, September 16.

Varsity lost in a sweep: 25-21, 25-16, 25-19.

Riverside Junior High Volleyball traveled to Milton Union for a conference match-up.  The 7th-grade team played a tough match with Milton Union before suffering the loss: 25-19 and 25-20.

8th grade played a very competitive match with a win in 3 sets: 9-25, 25-20, 25-18.

The West Liberty-Salem Tigers traveled to Cedarville for an OHC match, winning in four sets: 23-25, 25-21,25-18,25-23

The Tigers improve to 9-2 (9-1 in OHC).

The JV Tigers lost in 2 sets: 25-23, 25-22.

Both teams are at Home on Thursday vs. Southeastern.
