Bellefontaine boys’ track and field team members competed in the D1 regional competition at Wayne this week.

Freshman Caleb Sechrest placed 6th in the D1 400 hurdles, clocking 40.10.

“Although I know he was disappointed,” said coach Ben Davis, “his district 39.2 creates a positive expectation for his sophomore year.”

Hayden Maus placed 12th in the 3200 with a 9:42.01.

“The overall field’s race was the fastest in regional history with five at 9:08 or below,” Davis explained. “He had a tremendous season, winning the league 3200 and district 1600. He is the consummate work ethic warrior.”

Ayden Clary competed in the shot put, placing 15th with a 45′ 5.25″ throw.

“It might not have been the series he wanted today,” Davis said, “but he had some tremendous puts to help our team this season.”

Clary will participate in the state discus competition next Saturday.
