BHS tennis wins tight match over Northwestern

The Chieftain Girls Tennis team hosted Northwestern on Tuesday night and defeated the Warriors 3-2 in the varsity match.

Wins for the Chiefs came at the 2nd and 3rd singles and first doubles. Olivia Warye played very well at 2nd singles, winning by keeping her opponent off balance with varying groundstrokes. Oriana Vasquez collected her first varsity win of her career at third singles. The first doubles team of Rylee Crabtree and Mia Brown moved to 10-0 on the season with a hard-fought, straight-set victory over the Warriors.

Junior Varsity Chiefs defeated the Warriors 1-0
JV Doubles Charlie Hughes / Vanshika Shah (B) def Six / Seven  (B) 7-6 (7-5)

Chiefs move to 5-5 overall and 1-4 in the CBC.

Next action for the Chiefs will be on Wednesday, September 17, when they travel to Jonathan Alder for a 4:30 match.
