Benjamin Logan 12, North Union 2 (6 innings)
Benjamin Logan used a strong all-around performance to earn a 12-2 run-rule victory over North Union, bouncing back after a loss to the Wildcats earlier in the week.
The Raiders wasted no time getting on the board in the first inning. Soli Hughes reached after being hit by a pitch to lead things off, and Cayden Brown later delivered a double to left that helped bring in the game’s first runs. An RBI groundout from Adam Tinsman capped the early rally, giving Benjamin Logan a 2-0 advantage.
The momentum carried into the second inning, where the Raiders added three more runs. Gavin Riedmiller scored on a wild pitch, and Oliver Morse followed with a ground ball into left that plated another run. Morse later stole home to extend the lead to 5-0.
North Union responded with a run in the third on an RBI single and added another in the fifth to cut the deficit to three. However, Benjamin Logan answered immediately in the bottom half of the inning with a pair of sacrifice plays, including a flyout from Carrick Spriggs and a groundout from Jacob Hawley, each bringing in a run to make it 7-2.
In the sixth, the Raiders put the game away in dominant fashion. With no outs recorded by the Wildcats, Brown drove in two runs on a double before using his speed to steal both third and home. Riedmiller later added a two-run double to secure the run-rule victory.
