BLMS track teams compete at Urbana

The Benjamin Logan Middle School boys track team took first place out of four schools at the Urbana Quad Meet held Monday.

The boys finished with a team score of 130 points, well ahead of Urbana (62), Kenton Ridge (48), and London (47).

Leading the way for the Raiders were several first-place finishers, including the 4×800 relay team of Eli Carpenter, Cayde Buck, Owen Marshall, and Quinn Kuba with a time of 11:13.03. Other first-place finishes included Karson McCoy in the 1600m run (6:07.71), Nevada Coleman in the 400m dash (1:03.64), Santiago Solano in the 200m hurdles (31.04), Quinn Kuba in the 800m run (2:33.22), and Carrick Spriggs in the long jump (15’7”).

The Benjamin Logan girls team placed third with 46 points, finishing behind Kenton Ridge (87.5) and London (58), but ahead of Urbana (43.5).

First-place finishers for the girls included Sarah Miller in the 200m hurdles (34.16) and the 4×400 relay team of Marley Snoke, Della Baker, Jazmine McGue, and Liberati Walters with a time of 5:12.46.

Both teams had several athletes placing in the top six across multiple events.

Coaches for the boys are Jamie Gill and Lance Predmore.

Coaching the girls are Colleen Bodin and Sheridon Storm.
