BMS track & field shines at Indian Lake meet

The Bellefontaine Chieftains traveled to Indian Lake Tuesday night to compete in a middle school county meet against the Lakers, Benjamin Logan, and Riverside, turning in a strong overall performance.

Leading the way was Gianna Davis, who swept the sprint events with wins in the 100-, 200-, and 400-meter races. Kylie Lowe added a victory in the 1600-meter run, while Jazmin Nelson claimed first place in the high jump.

The Chieftains also saw success in the relays, winning the 4×100 with Alejandra Meregote, Kiser Jones, Ellijana Bosiljevac, and Natalee Kuhns, and the 4×200 with Journey Williams, Gemma Rutan, Kylinn Slayback, and Nahla Arruza.

Several athletes recorded personal bests on the night, including Annie Gallaway, Alexis Hogan, Eva Martinez, Eden Smith, Braelynn Neer, Nya McGinnis, Me’Lah Conklin, Alejandra Meregote, Alivia Rogan, Skylar Phan, Kylie Lowe, and Gianna Davis.

The Bellefontaine Chieftains will look to carry that momentum into their next meet in London.
