BMS Track Team Takes 2nd Place at Mechanicsburg Invite


The Bellefontaine Middle School Boys battled hard against 16 teams but fell just short of 1st place by 3 points and took 2nd overall at the Mechanicsburg mid-season Invite. Athletes placing were:

  • Caleb Sechrest – 2nd in the 100m dash, 2nd in the 200m dash, and 4th in 400m dash
  • Jack Wilson – 1st in 1600m run and 2nd in the 800 m run
  • Landon Rister – 8th in the 110m Hurdles
  • Cale Middlesworth – 7th in Pole Vault
  • Maddox Marlen – 6th in Long Jump
  • Bentley Stewart – 8th in Shot Put


  • The 4×400 team of Landon Gerwels, Maddox Marlen, Caleb Lillard, and Landon Rister took 1st
  • The 4×800 team of Nicolas Herrera Diaz, Jack Wilson, Isaiah Walker, and Andrew Myers took 4th
  • The 4×200 team of Landon Gerwels, Maddox Marlen, Caleb Lillard, and Dillon Jones took 3rd
  • The 4×100 team of Bryant Carter, Dillon Jones, Caleb Lillard, and Mason Phillips took 5th place


The BMS girls had a good meet with many athletes scoring and breaking personal records.

Scoring for the Chiefs were:

  • Sloan Stolly: 1st in 200 hurdles and 2nd in 100 hurdles
  • Layla Davis: 6th in 400m and 8th in 200m
  • Vanessa Friedrich: 5th in discus and 8th in shot put
  • Brooklyn Kuntz: 5th in 200 hurdles
  • Chloe O’Chocke: 8th in 1600m


  • 4x800m team of Blakely Volrath, Sophia Marker, Karsyn Newkirk, and Cece Reier placed 4th
  • 4x100m team of Mia Brown, Kinley Dunn, Cameo Greene, and Paxton Stewart placed 6th
  • 4x200m team of Brown, Davis, Greene, and Stewart placed 2nd
  • 4x400m team of Stolly, Newkirk, Stewart, and Dunn placed 5th


The Chiefs travel to Ben Logan on Monday for an open meet.
