Bowlers Knock Pins Down; Benjamin Logan at State KO Tournament, Bellefontaine at Red & Blue Classic

The Benjamin Logan Boys Varsity Bowling team traveled to HP Lanes in Columbus on Saturday in the Division 2 State Kick-Off Tournament.

26 boys teams participated.

Three conventional games plus 2 baker games were bowled with the top 16 teams advancing to the Championship Round.

The boys placed 14th after qualifying guaranteeing placement in the Championship Bracket.

Leading the Raiders in the qualifying round (conventional games) was:

  • Jarrett Buckenroth – games of 200, 241 & 166 = 607 series. (Jarrett’s efforts were recognized by his selection to the All-Tournament Team)
  • Landon Stoodt rolled games of 203 and 187
  • Dylan Stewart rolled an 186 game
  • Caleb Knight chipped in an 182 game

In the Championship Bracket (consisting of 3 baker games – total pinfall moves on):

Round 1: BLHS defeated #3 seed Bucyrus – 535 to 439.

Round 2: BLHS was defeated by #11 seed Fort Loramie – 490 – 479

BLHS Boys team finished in the Top 8 of the tournament.

 

The Bellefontaine High School girls Varsity and JV teams participated in the Red and Blue Classic on Saturday at the Columbus Square Bowling Palace.

The Varsity girls finished 2nd and the JV 16th out of 27 teams.

Ashland was first with a score of 3952, Bellefontaine second at 3571, and Gahanna Lincoln 3rd with a score of 3436.

Individual scores for Bellefontaine Varsity:

  • Haylee Yelton 245 game, 587 series
  • Gracie Hood 205 game 560 series
  • Chloe Heminger 216 game 526 series
  • Haylee Rutherford 180 game 519 series
  • Avery Mullins 175 game 494 series

Haylee Yelton made the All-Tournament team with her 587 series.

JV final score 2514, individual score Kinzie Bernard 169, 150, 182 for a 481 series.
