Calvary Christian High School boys soccer picked up a 3-1 victory over Lima Central Catholic in a WOSL conference matchup, putting together a strong performance on both sides of the ball.
The Spartans controlled the majority of play from start to finish, creating several offensive opportunities while keeping pressure on the LCC defense.
Junior Cale Buchenroth provided the offensive spark for Calvary Christian, scoring all three of the Spartans’ goals to complete a hat trick. His three-goal performance helped Calvary build its lead and secure the conference victory.
The Spartans also received a strong defensive effort from junior Gavin Householder and freshman Josiah Plikerd. The pair helped anchor the Calvary defense and limit Lima Central Catholic’s opportunities throughout the match.
Calvary Christian will look to build on the win when the Spartans return to action Saturday against Yellow Springs.
