A busy weekend on the hardwood brought big performances, overtime thrillers, last-second game-winners, and strong showings across the county as local boys, girls, and middle school teams hit the court Friday and Saturday. Here’s a complete look at all the action.

BOYS BASKETBALL

FRIDAY RESULTS

Riverside Sweeps Milton-Union

The Riverside Pirates turned in a strong performance Friday night, sweeping Milton-Union on the road.

JV: Riverside rolled to a 40–30 win behind 19 points from David Gross and 7 from Laithen Snyder.

Varsity: The Pirates outlasted the Bulldogs in overtime, winning 66–62.

Brody Orsborne led all scorers with 21 points. Hayden Sanford added 16, while Blaine Shoe and Colton Hurley each contributed 8.

Riverside is back at home Tuesday against Bethel starting at 6 p.m.

Urbana upsets Jonathan Alder

Varsity: Urbana improved to 2–0 with a 58–40 victory over Jonathan Alder.

Scoring for Urbana: Grady Lantz 17, Drew Dixon 16, Kaden Underwood 14.

JV: Urbana took the junior varsity matchup 38–18 behind 16 points from Riley Mounce and 10 from Braxten Spriggs.

Freshmen: Jonathan Alder won the freshmen game 50–37.

Carter Houseman scored 9 for JA; Mekhi Peterson added 8 for Urbana.

Calvary Christian Battles Miami Valley

Calvary Christian fell to Miami Valley 51–41 in a hard-fought game Friday night.
Evan Schmidt posted a standout stat line—16 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals.
Senior John Gaertner added 9 points and 2 blocks.

The Spartans host Franklin Monroe on Saturday in Bellefontaine

Franklin Monroe defeats Calvary Christian

The Franklin Monroe Jets took down the Calvary Christian Spartans on the road 73-34.

Leading the scoring for the Spartans were a pair of forwards: Braylon Dunson with 13, followed by Abel Davie with 8.

Riverside Boys Edge Northeastern

The Riverside Raiders traveled to Northeastern and used a strong fourth quarter to secure a 48–45 victory.

The Riverside Lady Pirates lost to Northridge 53–45 in conference play Saturday morning.

Mechanicsburg claimed a dramatic 40–37 win over Northeastern with a last-second deep shot from Clara Forrest—draining the game-winner from the volleyball line.

Indian Lake Drops CBC Battle to Graham

Indian Lake fell 50–37 to Graham on Saturday in a physical, high-energy CBC matchup.
