Calvary Christian School is joining the Metro Buckeye Conference starting with the 2025-26 school year.

MBC athletic directors unanimously voted to accept the Logan County school.

Calvary, in its second year as an Ohio High School Athletic Association member, had been a part of the Ohio Valley Christian Conference.

“We are excited to be a member of the Metro Buckeye Conference, to compete with the other member schools, and to contribute to the success of the conference as a whole,” said Calvary AD Tony Carter. “MBC has schools that are in similar size to Calvary and have the same sports available. The schools are in a closer proximity than our previous conference and now that we are part of the OHSSA, we were looking to get into a conference with other schools that were part of it as well.”

Calvary offers boys and girls cross country, boys soccer, girls volleyball, and golf in the fall; boys and girls basketball in the winter; and boys and girls track in the spring.

According to MBC Commissioner Brian Blevins, Calvary is a great fit. “The big thing is they’re a growing school that not only fits our size but also we feel is going to grow along with the conference,” he said. With Calvary, the MBC is at seven-member schools.

Blevins said the league is aggressively looking to add up to three more schools and bring the total membership to eight or 10.
