Chiefs 12U takes 2nd place at Turf Wars

The Bellefontaine Chiefs 12U baseball team had a great weekend at the Turf Wars tournament in Marysville, finishing in second place overall.

On Saturday, the Chiefs beat Wyandot County Tribe 12U with a shutout win.

Juju Anderson pitched a strong game with six strikeouts and no walks.

Caleb Palmer helped at the plate with a home run.

Later that evening, they played the Ohio All Americans.

Jax Fleming started on the mound and gave up just three hits and one run over four innings.

Caleb Palmer finished the game without allowing any more runs.

Fleming also had two RBIs, helping the Chiefs win 3-1.

On Sunday, the Chiefs went into bracket play as the top seed.

They played Central Ohio Prime 12U and won 5-3.

Tovan Benton Jr. pitched six innings, giving up just one earned run.

Tovan and Jack Fissel each had two hits in the game.

In the championship game, the Chiefs faced the Ohio All Americans again.

Brentlee Bach led the team with a double and a single.

Caleb Palmer started on the mound, giving up seven runs.

The Chiefs lost 3-11, finishing the tournament in second place.

The team will play again tonight in Belle Center against Ben Logan.
