Chiefs’ 13U club competes at “One Pitch at a Time” tournament in Columbus

The Chiefs traveled to Berliner Park in Columbus this weekend to compete in the “One Pitch at a Time” tournament, taking on strong competition across multiple games in a busy two-day stretch.

The Chiefs opened play on Saturday with a solid performance against Ohio Independence 13U, securing a 13-5 victory. The offense set the tone early and carried momentum through the game to earn the win.

Later that day, the Chiefs faced the Nordonia Knights 13U in a closely contested matchup. Despite a strong effort, the Chiefs came up just short, falling 6-5 in a one-run game.

On Sunday, the Chiefs started strong against USA Prime Central Ohio, but found themselves trailing 5-0 heading into the sixth inning. Showing resilience at the plate, the Chiefs mounted a comeback, scoring seven unanswered runs to secure a 7-5 win and advance into the Silver Bracket championship game.

In the final matchup, the Chiefs faced the Findlay Trojans 13U. Despite a hard-fought effort, the Chiefs were unable to slow down Findlay’s offense, falling 18-1 and finishing as Silver Bracket runner-up.

Overall, the weekend highlighted both the team’s offensive potential and resilience, particularly in their comeback win on Sunday.

The Chiefs will return to action this weekend as they compete in the Mad River RBI tournament.
