Local high school bowling teams were in action Monday, January 12, with Bellefontaine, Urbana, and West Liberty-Salem all turning in strong varsity performances, while the Chiefs also picked up a pair of junior varsity wins over Urbana.
VARSITY BOYS — Bellefontaine 2627, Urbana 2344
The Bellefontaine boys rolled past Urbana behind a big opening night from their top two bowlers and a strong Baker set to seal the win.
Alex Moon and David Allen led the way with nearly identical series. Moon fired games of 205 and 264 for a 469 series, while Allen followed with 211 and 257 for a 468.
Bellefontaine added a solid 750 Baker total to pull away in the final tally.

The Bellefontaine JV boys also picked up a win, led by a big game from Eli Stone.
Stone rolled a 208 to pace the Chiefs, while Parker Hubbard added a 156 and Christian Bollack chipped in a 151.
VARSITY GIRLS — Bellefontaine 2696, Urbana 2389
The Bellefontaine girls continued their strong season with a convincing win over Urbana, powered by two big series at the top of the lineup.
Gracie Hood rolled the high series of the match with a 483, while Chloe Heminger was close behind with 473. The Lady Chieftains also posted a strong regular-game total of 2,033 pins.

The Bellefontaine JV girls edged Urbana by just 12 pins in a tightly contested match.
Isabelle Gunnett led the Chiefs with a 165–152 series (315). Amillia Grumbling added a 134 game, and Riley Niswonger contributed a 128.
The varsity girls will be back in action Thursday, Jan. 16, at Victory Lanes against Shawnee.
VARSITY BOYS — Emmanuel Christian 2619, West Liberty-Salem 2482, Northeastern 1762
West Liberty-Salem turned in a strong showing on the lanes, led by Devon Jones and Tucker Searles.
Jones rolled a 252 in game one and finished with a 409 series, while Searles followed with a 395. The Tigers added a solid 728 Baker total.
