The Bellefontaine Chiefs 12U squad came out swinging Tuesday night, shutting out the West Liberty-Salem Tigers with a commanding 10–0 win.
Parker Artis got things going early, launching a two-run homer in the bottom of the first to put the Chiefs on the board.
Not long after, Tovan Benton Jr. added to the momentum with a solo shot of his own.
The Chiefs’ bats stayed hot all game, with Jack Fissel, Sawyer Vermillion, Caleb Palmer, Brentlee Bach, JuJu Anderson, and Jax Flemming all contributing hits — and several players racking up multiple stolen bases.
Artis also impressed on the mound, pitching three shutout innings and allowing just four hits.
Korbin Smith took over in relief to close out the game and lock in the win.
Next up, the Chiefs head to Sidney on Wednesday night to take on the Sidney Bats Orange 12U at 6:30 p.m. at Custenborder Fields.
