Chiefs top Graham, Lakers beat Tecumseh – Tuesday basketball results

Area basketball teams were in action Tuesday evening.

The Bellefontaine varsity boys defeated Graham 44-38.

Tavien St. Clair led the Chiefs with 12 points and Keagon Overton-Story pitched in 10.

For the Falcons, Bode McGuire led with 9, and Ben Sells and Eli Hollingsworth added 8 points apiece.

Bellefontaine improves to 7-7 while Graham falls to 5-9.

The Chiefs will host Shawnee Friday night.

The Falcons welcome in Indian Lake Friday night. You can listen to that game live on 106.9 The Bull and AM 1390 with tip-off slated for 7:30.

Benjamin Logan’s varsity boys fell to Shawnee 70-23.

EJ Martin paced the Raiders with 12 points.

Benjamin Logan falls to 0-13.

In the JV game, Shawnee topped the Raiders 52-34.

The Indian Lake varsity team defeated Tecumseh 53-46.

The Lakers improve to 7-7.

Urbana’s varsity boys lost a close game with London 48-46.

The Hillclimbers were led by Will Donahoe with 15 points.

Urbana is now 10-4 on the season.

The West Liberty-Salem varsity boys lost to Catholic Central 61-48.

Matt Jones led the Tigers with 16 points, Taran Logwood poured in 12, Carson Poppe added 11, Brevin Louden tossed in 5 points and Miles Hostetler and Logan Phillips each had 2 points.

West Liberty-Salem falls to 8-6 (6-4 OHC).

In the JV game, the Tigers also lost to Catholic Central 44-31.

Leading WL-S were Isaiah Reames with 16 points and Caleb Hershberger with 13.

West Liberty-Salem will be back in action Friday when they host Madison Plains.

Calvary Christian ran over Sidney Christian 67-23.

Leading the way for the Spartans was Ephraim Daniels with 12 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists.  Ezra Davie added 12 points, 3 rebounds and 1 assist.  Patrick James had 11 points, 5 rebounds & 2 blocks.  Kaden Downey added 6 points, 3 assists, and 2 steals.  Wyatt Schlatter had 2 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals.  Charles Krumm pitched in 6 rebounds and 2 points.  Gregor Hanson had a 3-pointer & 2 rebounds.

Middle School:

The Riverside 7th-grade girls defeated Lehman Catholic 23-13.

Leading the Lady Pirates were Chloe Purtee with 9 points, Molly Carman had 8 points, Valerie Knight scored 4 points, and Kenzie Stotler chipped in with 2 points.

Riverside’s 7th-grade girls improve to 9-4 (8-3 conference).

In the 8th-grade game, the Lady Pirates topped Lehman 32-22.

Miah Carman led Riverside with 15 points, Emilee Robinson tossed in 13 points, and Kenna Johnson tallied 4 points.

The 8th-grade Lady Pirates are 11-2 (9-2 conference).

The West Liberty-Salem 7th grade boys edged past Fairbanks 22-20.

Beckett Sullivan led the Tigers with 9 points, Zade Beileski added 5 points, Brayan Gullett and Liam Barger each had 3 points, and Austin Markin scored 2 points.

The West Liberty-Salem 7th-grade boys improve to 11-0.

The West Liberty-Salem 8th-grade girls fell to Fairbanks 31-17.

Leading the Lady Tigers was Belle Sarver with 9 points. Lucy Cole scored 3 points, Emma Liggett and Ariana Weaver each had 2 points and Maddie Adkins chipped in with 1 point.
