The Bellefontaine Chiefs easily dispatched Shawnee on Thursday, 13-4.
The Chiefs got on the board in the first inning after a wild pitch scored two runs.
They added five more on two hits in the top of the third inning.
Aven Caudill was hit by a pitch with bases loaded to bring in a run, Beckham Harman drew a walk to score another, and Zylar Huffman slapped a 3-run double in the inning..
Sammy Kline started on the mound for Bellefontaine.
He gave up seven hits and four runs (three earned) over six innings, striking out two and walking four.
Blake Bowen opened the game for Shawnee and surrendered three hits and nine runs (four earned) over three and one-third innings, striking out five and walking seven.
Sutton Daring tossed one inning of zero-run ball for the Bellefontaine Varsity Chiefs in relief.
Brody Boy went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead the Chiefs.
Zylar Huffman and Caudill each drove in three runs for Bellefontaine, but it was patience at the plate that kept Bellefontaine in the lead, piling up 11 walks for the game.
Joey Ross and Caden Wallace each collected two hits for Shawnee.
Kaiden Roeder, Wallace, and Michael Folchi each drove in a run for Shawnee.
Bellefontaine hosts North Union tonight at Blue Jacket Park.
Shawnee travels to Urbana.
The Urbana Hillclimbers fought past Tecumseh on Thursday, earning a tough 7-4 win at home.
Brody Donahoe, Grady Lanz, and Colt Teepe all went 2-for-3 at the plate to help with the win.
Teepe homered for the Hillclimbers.
Reid Olinger led Tecumseh with a 2-for-3 night.
Lanz pitched a complete game for Urbana, going seven innings, allowing 3 hits and 4 runs.
He gathered 9 strikeouts and 5 walks in the game for the win.
JJ Burcham gets the loss for Tecumseh.
He went 4 and 2/3 innings and gave up 6 hits and 7 runs, striking out two and walking 2.
Urbana returns to action tonight when they host Shawnee. Tecumseh hosts Indian Lake.
