The Chieftain Boys Tennis team opened their season on Monday night, hosting the Greenville Green Wave.
The Chiefs battled hard but ultimately fell by a score of 4-1.
The lone point for the Chieftains came from Max Fissel, who secured a victory in second singles, defeating Nillis 7-5, 6-3.
In other singles action:
- 1st Singles: Pierri defeated Xavier Sims 7-6(8-6), 6-1
- 3rd Singles: Pierri defeated Quinn Slagle 6-1, 6-4
In doubles play:
- 1st Doubles: Younk/Beirsner defeated Bryce Harris and Elias Abrego 6-4, 6-4
- 2nd Doubles: Lacey/Combs defeated Lane Howard and Lorenz Henry 6-2, 6-0
The Chiefs will host Northwestern on Tuesday at 4:30 PM.
