Chieftain boys tennis falls to Northwestern in conference opener

The Bellefontaine Boys Tennis team kicked off conference play with a tough 5-0 loss to Northwestern on Tuesday night.

In singles action, Xavier Sims was defeated 6-0, 6-0 by Yeager, Max Fissel fell to Wildolfsky 6-0, 6-2, and Quinn Slagle lost to Bechtel 6-2, 7-5.

In doubles, the duo of Bryce Harris and Elias Abrego was bested by Gundolf and Baugh 6-2, 6-3, while Lane Howard and Lorenz Henry lost 6-0, 6-0 to Macy and Macy.

The Chieftains travel to Tecumseh on Thursday, with the match scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m.
