Chieftain boys tennis tops Tecumseh on Senior Night

The Bellefontaine Chieftain Boys Tennis team celebrated Senior Night in dominant fashion Tuesday, defeating visiting Tecumseh 4–1 in front of a supportive home crowd.

Leading the way were seniors Xavier Sims and Max Fissel, who made quick work of their singles matches.

Sims didn’t drop a game in his 6-0, 6-0 win at first singles, while Fissel matched that scoreline at second singles.

In doubles play, the pairings of Bryce Harris and Elias Abrego, as well as Lane Howard and Jack Wilson, each picked up straight-set wins to clinch the team victory.

  • 2nd Singles: Max Fissel (B) def. B. Augaitis – 6-0, 6-0
  • 3rd Singles: B. Barrett def. Quinn Slagle (B) – 6-4, 6-1
  • 1st Doubles: Harris/Abrego (B) def. Sappe/DeBoard – 6-0, 6-0
  • 2nd Doubles: Howard/Wilson (B) def. Olinger/Clark – 6-4, 6-1

In exhibition play, Loudenback and Sandoval earned an 8-5 win over Lorenz Henry and Brody Miranda.

The Chieftains return to action Wednesday as they hit the road to face Northeastern.
