Lady Chiefs win third straight district title; Adams breaks 32-year-old record

The Bellefontaine Chieftain girls track and field team captured their third consecutive Division II District Championship on Saturday at Piqua High School, scoring in nearly every event and finishing with 110 points—well ahead of second-place Carroll (78) and third-place Benjamin Logan (75).

The highlight of the meet came from Kylie Adams, who broke a 32-year-old district long jump record with a leap of 18 feet, 10.25 inches, surpassing the 1983 mark set by SCC’s Mary Quisenberry.

The Bellefontaine boys track and field team had a strong showing at the Division I District Meet in Troy, highlighted by Hayden Maus winning the 1600-meter championship and earning a runner-up finish in the 3200.

The team saw numerous personal records across both track and field events.

Maus and senior thrower Ayden Clary both qualified to regionals in two events, while freshman Caleb Sechrest nearly won the 300m hurdles, finishing second with a personal-best time.
