Chieftain Swim Team Competes Strong in Double Dual

The Chieftain girls swim team had a dominant performance Tuesday night, sweeping Kenton 51-43 and Mt. Gilead 74-15. The boys’ team split their duals, defeating Mt. Gilead 47-32 but falling to Kenton 62-28.

Top finishers for the girls included:

  • Girls Medley Relay: 2nd place (Kaidi Freeman, Elaina Ullom, Kaeleigh Flora, Kate Myers)
  • Girls 200 Free Relay: 2nd place (Claire McDaniel, Ella Fultz, Emma Merrin, Gillian Steele)
  • Girls 400 Free Relay: 1st place (Kate Myers, Emma Nieto, Kaeleigh Flora, Elaina Ullom)
  • Kaidi Freeman: 2nd in 200 Free
  • Kate Myers: 2nd in 200 IM, 2nd in 500 Free
  • Ella Fultz: 1st in 50 Free (PR)
  • Claire McDaniel: 2nd in 50 Free (PR), 3rd in 100 Breast
  • Kaeleigh Flora: 2nd in 100 Fly (PR), 3rd in 100 Back (PR)
  • Emma Nieto: 3rd in 100 Fly, 2nd in 100 Back
  • Elaina Ullom: 2nd in 100 Free, 2nd in 100 Breast

For the boys:

  • Boys Medley Relay: 3rd place (Grady Feasel, Cody Hudson, Elias Abrego, Beckham Harman)
  • Boys 200 Free Relay: 2nd place (Beckham Harman, Grady Feasel, Cody Hudson, Ryan Alexander)
  • Boys 400 Free Relay: 2nd place (Ryan Alexander, Blaine Mitchell, Will Myers, Elias Abrego)
  • Blaine Mitchell: 3rd in 200 Free (PR)
  • Elias Abrego: 3rd in 200 IM, 2nd in 100 Fly
  • Ryan Alexander: 3rd in 50 Free (PR), 3rd in 100 Fly (PR)
  • Will Myers: 2nd in 500 Free (PR)
  • Cody Hudson: 2nd in 100 Breast

Coach Lewis commented, “For only our second meet, I’m happy to see our swimmers already improving some of their times from last season. I’m also proud of our athletes for stepping up to new and challenging events tonight.”

The team will be back in action this Saturday, December 7th, at the Trotwood Sprint Invite.
