Chieftain Volleyball Team Advances to District Finals

The Chieftain volleyball team put on a stellar performance Tuesday night, defeating Urbana in the district semi-finals with scores of 25-16, 15-11, and 25-10.

Kelsie Snapp led the charge with an impressive 20 kills, going 14 for 14 in serving with 3 aces and contributing 12 digs.

She also celebrated a significant milestone, achieving 1,000 digs during her career.

Taylor Banta added 7 kills, 15 digs, and 5 aces, while Ava Layman also tallied 7 kills.

Defensively, Ava Campbell and Presley Vigansky each recorded a block, and Reagan Standley served flawlessly at 11 for 11 with 3 digs.

Madi Zedeker excelled with 23 of 24 serves, dishing out 31 assists and adding 9 digs, while also being recognized for her 2,000 career assists during the match. Ava Reeves contributed with 12 digs.

The Chiefs are set to travel to Troy High School on Saturday for the district final match against the winner of Bethel vs. Kenton Ridge.

This marks only the second time in school history that the Chieftains have advanced to the district finals, and the exact game time will be announced soon.
