Chieftains sweep Wapakoneta to stay unbeaten

The Bellefontaine Chieftains hit the road Saturday and didn’t miss a beat, sweeping Wapakoneta in straight sets by scores of 25–10, 25–18, and 25–9.

Presley Vigansky was unstoppable behind the service line, going a perfect 21-for-21 with seven aces while also contributing four kills.

Jillian Ullom anchored the defense with ten digs, while Ava Layman added nine digs, three kills, and perfect serving.

Kaeleigh Flora chipped in with four kills and was flawless from the line as well.

At the net, Ari Rangel made her presence felt with two kills and a solo block, while Kelsie Snapp powered the offense with 16 kills, 12 digs, and a perfect nine-for-nine serving effort that included two aces.

Madi Zedeker directed the attack with 26 assists, ten digs, and five aces, finishing 19-for-19 from the service line.

With the win, the Chiefs improve to 3–0 on the season.

In junior varsity action, the Red team fell in two sets, 25–11 and 25–22.

Lexi McKirahan led the defense with nine digs, while Celine Blinn added six digs and an ace.

Alayna Boyd served up five aces and added two kills, and Ava Oppy contributed two kills and three digs.

The JV Black team also came up short, falling 25–9 and 25–20, but saw strong efforts across the board.

McKirahan and Brooklyne Kuntz each tallied six digs, with Kuntz also adding four assists and two aces.

Rosie Lightle was perfect from the line while collecting four assists and three digs, and Hailey Augustus chipped in with four digs.

All three teams return to action Monday when they travel to Kenton.
