It was a hot evening, Monday. Several area high school golf teams took to the green, and despite the high temps walked away with wins.
- The Lady Tigers placed 3rd with a score of 256 in a quad match against Madison Plains, Northeastern, and Southeastern. Olivia Reichardt led the team with her personal best, shooting a 59. Kennedy Wallace, Brooklyn Wilcoxon, and Izabella Meister also shot their personal best. The Lady Tigers will take on Greenon at home on Wednesday.
- The Tiger Boys defeated Madison Plains 187-212, the Tigers lowest score of the year. West Liberty was led by dual 42s from Greyson Horsley and Braydon Thompson. Aiden Taylor rounded out the day with a personal best score of 58. The Tigers are now 2-2 on the season and travel to Reid Park to take on Catholic Central Tuesday.
- The Lady Pirates defeated Anna 191-197 Monday, a new school record for a 9-hole match. Reaghan McDaniel was the medalist with a 37; Emma Saylor and Ava Klingler both shot a 50, which was a personal best for both golfers. Zoie Armbruster shot a 54, Cassie May had a 56, and Kirstyn Carpenter shot a 68.
- Riverside boys golf team traveled to Shelby Oaks Monday and fell to Sidney Lehman 204-160. Leading the Pirates was Jaxon Woods with a 39. Hayden McCully has a 48, Hayden Sanford 58, Gavin Robinson 59, Carter Kreglow 61, and Daniel Esh swung a 74.
- Calvary Christian traveled to Prairie View golf course for a match with Waynesfield Goshen Monday. Waynesfield defeated Calvary 189 to 218. Leading Calvary was Colton Smith with a 52 & Leland Henry shot a 53.
- The Bellefontaine girls battled Bluffton Monday winning 195 to 263. For the Chiefs, Lexi Buffkin was the match medalist with a 47. Kyndal Newkirk and Emily Taylor were 1 shot back at 48 and rounding out our scoring 4 was Kate Myers with a 52. Also for varsity was Gillian Steele’s 60 and Elliett Lang’s 64. For the JV, Ella Fultz had a 75 & Olivia Dearwester had a 78. The Chiefs will tee it up Tuesday in a CBC showdown with Jonathan Alder at 4:30 PM on the back 9 at Liberty Hills.
- The Lady Lakers were back in action Monday afternoon at home against Russia & won the match 208 to 212. There was a co-medalist for the match, Bree Stid for the Lake, and Lily Fulenkamp for Russia both shooting 48. Indian Lake’s Emma Myer shot a 52.
