Falcons dropped by Centerville; Lakers fall to Minster

The Graham Falcons fell to Centerville, 3-0, on Saturday despite holding them to two hits. Hayden Van Hoose, Brody Jenkins, Owen Powell, and Jack Traylor each collected hits for Graham.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Elks pitchers struck out eight, while Graham sat down five.

Centerville was the first to get on the board in the first when Ryan Muchmore laid down a sacrifice bunt, scoring a run.

The Elks added another in the second. Jackson Puckett tripled down the right field line, upping the score 2-0.

Breyton Reisinger stepped on the mound first for Graham, giving up two hits and two runs (one earned) over three innings, striking out five and walking two. Jackson Clark led things off on the hill for Centerville. He surrendered three hits and zero runs over six innings, striking out seven and walking two.

Graham is at home on Monday against Indian Lake in their next game.

The Indian Lake Lakers lost to the Minster Wildcats 7-4 on Saturday.

The Lakers got on the board first in the top of the second inning after Madden Lillard was struck by a pitch, and Kolton Cummins grounded out, each scoring runs.

Minster tied the game in the bottom of the second thanks to a ground out by Connor Schmiesing and a single by Andrew Wiss.

Indian Lake regained the lead in the top of the third after Jackson Snipes laid down a sacrifice bunt, scoring a run, to give Indian Lake Lakers the leg up, 3-2.

The Wildcats responded in the bottom of the third after Ian Homan singled down the right field line, and Rylan Edwards grounded into a fielder’s choice, each scoring one run and giving Minster a 4-3 lead.

Bryce Burton stole home, helping Indian Lake tie the game at four in the top of the fourth.

Minster returned to the lead in the bottom of the fourth inning when Dylan Heitkamp, Louis Magoto, and Rylan Edwards all singled down the left field line, each scoring a run.

Jace Hemmelgarn earned the win for Minster, giving up one hit and three runs (two earned) over three innings, striking out three and walking three. Tyler Tidwell took the loss for Indian Lake. He went three and one-third innings, surrendering five runs (two earned) on five hits, striking out two, and walking one.

Next up for Indian Lake is a game at Graham on Monday.
