Bluffton University senior Jenna Woods, a 2018–21 Riverside volleyball standout, reached a major milestone Tuesday night, tallying her 1,000th career kill for the Beavers.
Woods needed just 13 kills entering Bluffton’s matchup with Trine University and delivered 21 on the night, pushing her career total to 1,008 kills. Remarkably, this is the second time Woods has hit the 1,000-kill mark after doing so in high school for the Lady Pirates.
A middle hitter/opposite, Woods has been a key offensive weapon for Bluffton since arriving in 2022. She led the team in kills as a freshman and sophomore, finished second as a junior (while setting a single-season career high), and is now having her best season yet.
Through 17 matches, Woods has racked up 238 kills (3.72 per set), leading the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference in total kills and ranking second in kills per set. Nationally, she sits in the top 10 in Division III for total kills.
With 15 matches remaining, Woods is on pace to shatter her own career records.
Bluffton, now 7–10 on the season, fell to Trine in four sets Tuesday despite her standout performance.
