Girls Basketball Update: Lady Pirates Fall to Covington, Lady Chiefs Win in Overtime

The Riverside Lady Pirates lost 52-37 to Covington on Saturday.

Avery Perk led the team with 11 points, Emilee Robinson had 9 points, and Aubree Huston added 7 points.

The Pirates’ record is now 4-7.

 

West Liberty-Salem had a big win over Catholic Central, 55-14.

Ava Johnson scored 11 points, and Ava Poppe, Addi Wallen, and Ava Astorino each scored 8 points.

Arianna Weaver scored 7 points, and Grace Jones added 2.

 

The JV Lady Raiders beat Indian Lake 33-14.

Haley Smith led with 11 points, Madison Shields had 7 points, Molly Siefring scored 6 points, and Bryleigh Burnside added 4 points.

The Raiders are 8-2 this season and will play Bellefontaine at home on Wednesday at 6:00 pm.

 

In an exciting overtime win, the Lady Chieftains beat Jonathan Alder 55-51.

Tiffany Boop scored 20 points, grabbed 7 rebounds, and had 4 steals.

Quinlan Zedeker and Rylie Reames both scored 10 points.

The JV team also won 51-19, with Sloan Stolly and Emma Whitaker each scoring 10 points.

The Lady Chieftains will play at Greenon on Monday.

JV starts at 6:00 pm, and Varsity is at 7:30 pm.

 

Triad lost to Greeneview 51-27.

Abbey Overfield scored 12 points and had 4 assists.

Mia LeMay also scored 12 points and grabbed 6 rebounds.

Triad’s record is now 2-7 for Varsity and 3-10 overall.

They are scheduled to play Ridgemont at home on Monday at 6:00 pm (weather permitting).
