Graham slays the Lions of Miami Valley Christian; heads to regional finals

Hayden Van Hoose struck out 10 batters as the hurler led the Graham Falcons past the Miami Valley Christian Academy, 7-0, on Tuesday at Mason High School. Van Hoose allowed just two hits and no runs over seven innings while walking three.

The Falcons first scored in the bottom of the first inning after Zach Wheeland singled to center field, Adam Levy tripled down the right field line, and Breyton Reisinger grounded out, each scoring a run.

An error extended the Falcons’ lead to 5-0 in the bottom of the second inning.

Evan Lafferty takes the loss for the Lions, allowing nine hits and seven runs (five earned) over five and one-third innings, striking out three and walking one.

Reisinger provided a pop in the middle of the lineup with two RBIs. The right-handed hitter went 1-for-2 on the day. Dylan LaFollette and Owen Powell each collected two hits for the Falcons.

Luke Autry and Max Simon each collected a hit for Miami Valley Christian Academy.

Graham now waits to face the winner of the Ironton and Cincinnati Christian game in the Regional finals on Wednesday at Mason High School. First pitch is at 5 pm.
