High School and Middle School volleyball from Saturday

Several local volleyball teams opened the season over the weekend.

The Indian Lake varsity team played in a tri-match Saturday against Wapakoneta and Sidney.

The Lakers lost to Wapakoneta in 2 sets: 17-25, and 14-25.

Leaders for the Lakers were – Ally Kinney, 8/11 hitting with 5 kills, Devin Rice, 10/11 hitting with 4 kills, Halle Roby 28/29 setting, 4 assists, 7/7 serve, 2 kills, Stephanie Altstaetter, 32/32 setting, 5 assists, 7 digs, Katie Roby 6/6 serving, 1 ace, 14 digs.

Indian Lake defeated Sidney in 2 sets: 25-11, 25-21.

Stephanie Altstaetter led the Lakers going 25/25 setting, with 10 assists, 9 kills, 3 ace serves, 6 digs, Halle Roby went 24/24 setting, 11 assists, 5 digs, Madison Brentlinger 14/16 hitting, 4 kills, Ally Kinney 6 kills, 10/10 serving, 2 aces.

In the JV contest, Indian Lake fell to Wapak in 3 sets: 25-20, 22-25, 11-25.

Alex Kinney was 14/14 serving with 2 aces, 26/27 setting, and 7 assists, Addison Beck was 8/8 serving with 2 aces, and 3 kills, and Riley Ross was 31/33 serve receive and had 11 digs, Mckenna Hurley recorded 3 kills.

Against Sidney, Indian Lake won in 2 sets: 25-9 and 25-21.

Adeline Robinson was 10/10 serving, Alex Kinney was 11/11 hitting, 4 kills, 27/27 setting and 8 assists, Mckenna Hurley, Addison Beck, and Cambrie Warnecke each had 3 kills.

Riverside Volleyball played Jackson Center at home to open up the season.

The varsity Pirates lost to the Tigers in 3 sets 10-25, 12-25, 19-25.

Jade Copas led the team in serving with 100% and 2 aces & added in 9 digs.

Alaina Snow led the scoring with 6 kills & carried in another 9 digs for the team.

Brook Hunkler brought in 3 blocks.

In the JV game, Riverside fell to Jackson Center in 2 sets 17-25, 20-25.

Leading the JV Lady Pirates were Zoey Ransbottom with 1 assist, 2 digs, and 2 aces, Shaye McGill who had 1 assist, 2 digs, and 1 ace, Shasta Dunn with 2 digs and 1 kill, Riley Dillon with 6 digs and 1 ace, Emma Strayer 1 dig and 1 kill, Hailey Noger with 1 dig, and Jaidyn Jackson with 8 digs.

The Bellefontaine varsity team beat Triad in three sets 25-20, 25-10, 25-13.

Latoya Rogan had 15 digs. Kelsie Snapp had 15 kills and 12 digs. Madi Zedeker was 42/42 setting with 21 assists, 7 digs, and went 11/11 serving.

The JV won in two sets 25-11, and 25-14. Kaeleigh Flora led the Chiefs serving 14/14 with 3 aces, 4 kills, and 4 digs. Alexza Clifton added 2 aces, went 11/11 serving, and had 3 kills.

Bellefontaine Volleyball team

Fairbanks beat North Union in four sets 20-25, 25-20, 25-11, 25-16.

The Benjamin Logan Middle School volleyball team hosted Riverside Saturday to start off the season.

The 7th grade Lady Raiders won in 2 sets 25-22 and 25-10.

Georgia Daniels led the Raiders with 7 aces and 5 kills. Autumn Cline had 6 aces and 5 kills. Leah Hawley and Bella Hughes each added an ace and a kill. Lucy Johns and Kelsey Jumper each served an ace.

Leading scorers for Riverside were Molly Carman 4pts with 1 ace, Kenzie Stotler 4pts, and Chloe Purtee 3 points.

In the 8th grade match, the Lady Raiders came out on top winning 25-8 and 25-20. Rylee Davis led the way with 5 aces and 3 kills. Kylie Harner served 5 aces. Lilly Kerns had 3 aces and a kill. Abby Vance had an ace and 3 kills. Lydia Johnson added a kill.
