West Liberty-Salem lost to Mechanicsburg at home Friday night, 42-35.

The Tigers started with a strong first half, leading the Indians 25-20.

After that, it was all Mechanicsburg.

The Indians shut the Tigers down in the second half, holding West Liberty scoreless in the third quarter.

Carson Poppe led the Tigers in the loss with 9. Troy Christison added 8.

Junior guard Conner Eyink scored 17 for the Indians.

Both the JV and Freshman teams won their respective bouts for the Tigers.

The Bellefontaine Chieftains traveled to Urbana Friday night in a CBC matchup and lost to the Hillclimbers 63-37.

The Chieftains drop to 8-7 on the season and Urbana improves to 8-5.

For the Chiefs, CJ Butler & Jair Mundy each had 8 points.

Grayson Lotts and Jamison Clement each had 6 points.

Urbana’s Grady Lantz was the game-high scorer with 21 points.

Sam Wilhelm added 15 points and Julian Davis scored 12 points for the Hillclimbers.

In the JV contest, Bellefontaine lost 60-53.

Sutton Daring scored a game-high 22 points and Spencer Stolly added 11 points for the Chiefs.

Drew Dixon scored 18 for the winning Hillclimbers.

The Chiefs won the Freshmen contest in overtime 27-24.

Tyler Rossey scored 8 points for the Chiefs.

The Chiefs are back in action Tuesday night when they travel to Springfield Shawnee to take on the Braves in a CBC matchup.

The Riverside Pirates fell to Troy Christian, 71-61.

Brody Orsborne led with 23 points and 2 assists.

Jaxon Woods had 17 points, 9 rebounds, 1 block for the Pirates.

Landon Purtee added 11 points and 2 assists, and Gavin Orsborne had 5 points, 5 assists, and 2 steals.

Damien Smith rounded the top five with 5 points and 2 steals.

The JV team lost to the Eagles 48-36.

Justin Mazariegos led the team with 12 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 assists.

Syler Clark added 9 points, 7 rebounds, 2 steals, and 1 block.

Hayden McCully had 5 points and 1 assist in the loss.

The Lakers in Indian Lake shot down the Falcons of Graham, 67-44.

Brodey Reisinger led all scorers with 31 points.

Avery Pequignot added 19, and Cooper Hall pitched in 11 for the win.
