It was a night of powerful bats and standout performances on the softball field Tuesday, as local teams battled in league and non-league matchups.
Riverside’s late rally came up one run short in a 6–5 loss to Bethel, despite a great night from Jayden Hoffer.
The junior went 3-for-4, including a three-run home run in the fifth inning and two singles in the first and seventh.
Her homer helped the Pirates close a four-run deficit, but the comeback ultimately fell just short.
Riley Dillon pitched a complete game for Riverside, allowing six runs—five earned—on seven hits.
She struck out three and walked five.
Aubree Huston added two hits, and the Pirates showed discipline at the plate with five walks.
Defensively, they were sharp, turning three double plays.
Indian Lake cruised to a 14–3 win over Anna, powered by Bre Wisener’s three-hit, three-RBI performance.
Wisener homered in the third and added singles in the fourth and seventh, while also starting in the circle with three scoreless innings and five strikeouts.
The Lakers exploded for seven runs in the third inning, with key hits from Mackenzie Dixon, Halle Roby, Annie Rapp, and Wisener, plus an error that brought in another run.
Roby also pitched four innings in relief, giving up just one earned run on five hits.
Indian Lake racked up 19 hits.
Roby, Rapp, Wisener, and MacKenzie Miller each tallied three hits.
Brylee Buyer and Dixon each added multiple hits, and the team stole five bases.
