ILHS swim teams compete at Lima Senior Meet

The Indian Lake High School swim teams competed earlier this week in a meet hosted by Lima Senior High School at the new Lima Aquatics Center, turning in several strong performances and multiple personal records.

The boys’ 200-yard freestyle relay team of Gavin Spring, Mason Spring, Matthew Culp and Titus Kelly earned a second-place finish. In the 200-yard medley relay, the ILHS team of Reagan Rash, Evie Wagner, Danica Braun and Karis Martini placed sixth.

Individually, Titus Kelly finished third in the 100-yard backstroke and seventh in the 50-yard freestyle. Gavin Spring placed fourth in the 50 freestyle and added a third-place finish in the 100 breaststroke. Mason Spring took fourth in the 100 backstroke.

On the girls’ side, Evie Wagner led the way with a second-place finish in the 100 breaststroke and placed seventh in the 50 freestyle. Danica Braun finished seventh in the 200 freestyle, while Reagan Rash placed seventh in the 100 backstroke and eighth in the 50 freestyle. Scarlett Dean rounded out the results with an eighth-place finish in the 100 breaststroke.

Several Lakers posted personal-best times during the meet, including Karis Martini, Mason Spring, Gavin Spring, Danica Braun and Evie Wagner.

Indian Lake will next compete in the CBC Championships on Saturday, January 31, at Wright State University.
