Indian Lake, Riverside and Bellefontaine Secure Exciting Wins

Indian Lake’s varsity boys basketball team won 56-54 against North Union in a thrilling finish.

Brodey Reisinger led the team with 13 points, and Avery Pequignot added 12 points.

The game came down to the final seconds, with Colin Bendler scoring a layup at the buzzer to win the game for Indian Lake.

The junior varsity (JV) team lost 54-20 to North Union.

Reed Strayer led the team with 6 points in the loss.

Riverside’s boys basketball teams played Covington at home on Tuesday.

The freshman team lost 36-19.

Gabe Steineman and Laithen Snyder each scored 6 points for Riverside in the loss.

The JV team won 57-41, led by Colton Hurley with 16 points and 5 rebounds.

Camden Shoe added 11 points and 2 assists, while David Gross contributed 10 points and 9 rebounds.

Blaine Shoe helped on defense with 4 steals, and Justin Mazariegos scored 5 points with 4 rebounds and 2 blocks.

The varsity team came from behind to win 59-54 after trailing by 12 points in the third quarter.

Riverside stepped up their defense in the fourth quarter to secure the win.

Jaxon Woods led with 25 points, 13 rebounds, 4 steals, and 2 blocks.

Damien Smith added 13 points and 6 rebounds.

Brody Orsborne finished with 8 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals, while Gavin Orsborne scored 7 points and had 2 assists.

Bellefontaine Boys Basketball swept Kenton Ridge Tuesday night.

The JV A Team won 51-50 and B Team won 56-23.

Varsity won 96-85 in overtime.

Jair Mundy scored 36 points including 11 in overtime.

Braylon Newcomb scored 16 and Patrick Stolly chipped in 14.

The win evens the Chiefs record at 5-5.

They next host Celina this Saturday.
