Indian Lake boys’ roll past Shawnee, Bellefontaine girls’ edge Kenton Ridge in Wednesday golf

Local high school golf teams were back on the course Wednesday, with Bellefontaine and Indian Lake both competing in action.

Indian Lake 158, Shawnee 190 (boys)

The Indian Lake boys golf team picked up a CBC victory Wednesday night, defeating Shawnee 158-190.

Mason Berg led the Lakers and earned medalist honors with a scorecard of -1 (35). Jaxon Snipes followed with a 36, while Crew McPherson shot a 41. Grant Wickline added a 46 to complete the team score.

Reid Roberts also competed and shot a 47, while Jesse Carder finished with a 50.

The win moves Indian Lake to 4-3 in the CBC and 5-7 overall.

The Lakers will return to action Monday, September 7, against Waynesfield at Prairie View Golf Course, where they will also celebrate Senior Night.

Bellefontaine 219, Kenton Ridge 228 (girls)

The Bellefontaine Lady Chieftains picked up another victory Wednesday, defeating Kenton Ridge 219-228.

Allison Myers led Bellefontaine with a 49, followed by Paxton Stewart with a 53. Olivia Dearwester carded a 57, while Zoe Jervis rounded out the team score with a 61.

The Lady Chieftains also had two JV golfers compete. Annie Gallaway shot a 57, while Lola Kuba finished with a 58.

Bellefontaine will return to action Saturday, September 5, at 11 a.m. for the first annual Kris Myers Memorial at Liberty Hills Golf Club in Bellefontaine.
