Indian Lake dominates Greenon

Indian Lake used a strong second quarter to knock out the Greenon Knights Friday night at Northmont High School 53-38.

The Lakers took the lead at 16-13 to end the first quarter and turned up the defense to start the second frame.

Indian Lake didn’t allow Greenon to score until the waning seconds of the half and outscored the Knights 18-3 for a 34-16 halftime lead.

Greenon never threatened Indian Lake in the second half.

Avery Pequignot scored 20 points to lead the Lakers. Tyler Tidwell added 12.

Indian Lake shot 11-17 from the free-throw line while knocking down eight 3-pointers.

Coach Zach Overturf feels good about his team’s win.

The Lakers are now 15-8 and will return to Northmont on Tuesday for their next tournament game.
