Two athletes from Indian Lake High School are preparing to compete on one of the biggest stages of the indoor track season this weekend.

The Ohio Association of Track and Cross Country Coaches will host the Indoor Track and Field State Championship on March 6 and 7 at SPIRE Academy.

Representing Indian Lake in the triple jump are Aidan Stinebaugh and Kade Richardson. Both athletes qualified for the championship meet after recording top-16 distances during the indoor season.

Stinebaugh will be making his first appearance at the state championship and enters the competition with strong momentum. He is currently seeded third heading into the event.

Indian Lake coach Justin Metzger said the team is excited to see Stinebaugh compete at the next level.

“He’s got a lot of potential, and we’re excited to see him compete at this level,” Metzger said.

Richardson is returning to the state meet for the second consecutive year. With experience already under his belt, he heads into the competition seeded 12th.

“Kade’s got experience, and we’re hoping he can build on that and place well,” Metzger said.

The Indoor Track and Field State Championship brings together some of the top athletes from across Ohio, giving both Indian Lake competitors the opportunity to test themselves against the best in the state.
