Indian Lake volleyball splits season-opening tri-match

Indian Lake volleyball opened its 2026 season with a tri-match at Wapakoneta, facing both Wapak and Sidney. The Lakers’ JV squad went 2-0 on the day, while the varsity team finished with a 1-1 record.

The JV Lakers opened with a dominant 25-4, 25-20 victory over Wapak before taking on Sidney. Indian Lake dropped the second set 25-17 after winning the opener 25-21, but the Lakers responded with a 25-12 victory in the deciding set to complete the 2-0 start.

Claire Tidwell led the JV offense with 10 kills and nine digs, while Piper Robinson and Mary Archer each added eight kills. Ayla Brentlinger recorded 17 digs and six aces, while Lux Kipker finished with 11 digs and 21 assists. Makayle Clary added 13 digs.

The varsity Lakers opened the day against Wapak but fell 25-18, 25-19. Courtney Altstaetter led Indian Lake with four kills, while Alivia Kinney added three kills, one block and two aces. Mackenzie Miller finished with seven digs.

Indian Lake bounced back in its second match, defeating Sidney 25-14, 25-21.

Cami Bailey led the Lakers with eight kills, five digs and four aces. Altstaetter added five kills, two blocks and two digs, while Miller contributed five kills and five digs. Addyson Roby directed the offense with 18 assists and added an ace.

Indian Lake will look to build on the opening-day split as the Lakers continue the season.
