Lady Hoops: Lakers and Chiefs Win; Cardinals and Raiders Fall

Wednesday, the Lady Lakers won 50-40 against Springfield Shawnee in a varsity-only game. Carly Strayer led the team with 20 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 steals. Kennedy Schwaderer also scored 20 points, with 5 steals and 3 assists. Courtney Altstaetter added 6 points and 11 rebounds. Alivia Kinney and Mackenzie Dixon each scored 2 points.

The Lady Chiefs won against Kenton Ridge, beating them 54-26. Quinlan Zedeker led with 17 points, 3 assists, and 3 steals. Tiffany Boop added 13 points, 5 assists, and 3 steals. Laila Butler scored 9 points, Rylie Reames had 5, and Richiona Burnell and Gabbe Hoon each scored 4. The Lady Chiefs are now 5-2. The JV Lady Chiefs also won, defeating Kenton Ridge 21-2 in a two-quarter game. Emma Whitaker led the team with 7 points. Bellefontaine will play Urbana at home on Saturday. The JV game starts at 12 PM (playing only 2 quarters), followed by the Varsity game at around 12:45 PM.

Triad lost to Madison Plains 60-22 in a varsity-only game. Abbey Overfield led Triad with 8 points, Gracie Martin scored 6 points, and Bre Parsons grabbed 5 rebounds. The Lady Cardinals now are 1-5 in the OHC and 2-8 overall. They will play at Cedarville on Saturday at 12:30 p.m.

Benjamin Logan traveled to Graham. The Varsity team lost 61-45. Lahna Cook had her season-high 16 points, Kylie Harner added 10 points, Joplin Schneider had 7 points, and Daylin Varner had 6 points. The JV Lady Raiders beat the Falcons 27-24. Hailey Smith scored 14 points, Madison Shields had 8 points, and Lauren Kennedy and Bryleigh Burnside chipped in 2 each for the win. Benjamin Logan will travel to Springfield Shawnee on Saturday with 2 quarters of JV at noon. Varsity will follow.
