Ladies Battle on the Court: Chieftains, Raiders, Lakers, Tigers, Spartans & Pirates

The Lady Chieftains lost a tough battle to Jonathan Alder 46-40.

Leading the way for the Chieftains was Tiffany Boop with 15 points.

Quinlan Zedeker added 8 points and Alexza Clifton and Lexi Robinson chipped in 6 each.

Alexza Clifton had a tough second half ripping down 13 rebounds and Lexi Robinson with 8.

The Lady Chieftains are back on the road at Kenton Ridge on Wednesday.

JV tip at 6 pm and Varsity at 7:30 pm.

JV Lady Chieftains won a thriller beating Jonathan Alder 23-22.

Leading the scoring was Hailee Lamb with 12 points.

 

The Benjamin Logan Lady Raiders hosted the Indian Lake Lakers on Senior Night Saturday night in a league matchup for their last home game of the season.

The varsity Raiders beat the Lakers 43 to 42 in a physical game.

Leading the Raiders were Georgia Baters with 15 points, Kyndal Cronkleton with 11 points, and Maddy Herring and Mia Stahler both added 5 points each in the win.

Varsity moved to 11-9 on the season so far with two season games remaining (Triad on Monday and Graham on Wednesday).

For the Lakers, Katie Roby had 13 points, Haylee Edwards had 8 points and 9 rebounds, Carly Strayer added 8 points, Mackenzie Dixon scored 7 points and had 3 assists, and Savannah Hill had 4 steals and 4 assists.

The Lakers were down 41 to 38 and Mackenzie Dixon was fouled on a 3-point attempt with 11.1 seconds on the clock.

She made 2 of 3 to bring the score to 41 to 40.

The Lakers quickly fouled Adilynne Gregg who made both free throws to go ahead 43 to 40.

The Lakers Katie Roby had a nice 3-point look in the final seconds that was just off the mark, and Haylee Edwards got the rebound put back as time expired.

The JV Raiders lost in their game 42 to 34.

Kaylee Hays led with 9 points, Molly Siefring added 8 points, Lexi Lovett scored 6 points, and Elliott Butler pitched in 5 points.

The JV team is 9-7 on the season.

For the Lake Terra Beltz had 14 points, 11 rebounds, and 3 blocks, Addy Roby had 12 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 steals, Haley Metzger had 9 points and 5 rebounds, and Kail Shoffstall had 7 points.

The Lakers play Monday at Northwestern.

 

West Liberty-Salem defeated Triad 56-24 on Saturday.

For the Tigers:

  • Ava Astorino- 15 points
  • Bailey Poppe- 13 points
  • Chaley Wade- 9 points
  • Maddie Cole- 8 points
  • Lilly Weaver- 8 points
  • Ava Johnson- 3 points

For Triad Emma Ferguson had 11 points and 2 assists.

Mia LeMay had 8 points and 5 rebounds.

Ashlyn McCoy had 7 rebounds. Kaley Nott added 4 assists.

The JV team also defeated Triad 22-15.

Maddie McGill led the Tigers scoring 10 points.

For Triad, Gracie Martin had 9 points. Elliana Zimmerman had 4 points. Jazz Ford had 4 rebounds.

The Lady Spartans defeated East Dayton Christian on Senior night by a score of 66-26.

This was the last planned game for the Spartans at Union Station.

The Spartans were led by Senior Abigail Reinhard with a triple-double of 31 points, 10 steals, 10 assists, and 7 rebounds.

Madhuri Cook scored 20 points and had 5 steals.

Kari Gantz chipped in 5 points.

KayLee Hurley had 4 points, 3 steals, and 3 assists.

Kaylie Carter had 4 points and 3 rebounds.

Nora Thornton chipped in 2 points.

The Lady Spartans are now 14-2 overall and 9-1 in the OVCC.

 

The JV Lady Pirates beat Covington in two quarters on Saturday 21-14.

Leading the Pirates in scoring was Maddie Lemly with 13.

The JV lady pirates improve to 11-5.

The varsity Lady Pirates lost to Covington 35-45.

The Bucs got up 7-13 in the first and continued that momentum into the second quarter with a 9-23 advantage.

The Pirates started to fight back and made it a 13-point game in the third quarter and tried to make a comeback but they came up short in the end.

Leading the Pirates in scoring was Emma Saylor with 10 and Avery Perk chipped in 9.

The lady pirates are now 7-13 and 4-9 in conference.
