Lady Chiefs close season strong, look ahead to Sectionals

Bellefontaine’s Varsity Girls Bowling team capped off their regular season with a win over Mechanicsburg in a non-league match on Friday.

The Lady Chiefs finished with 2632 total pins, defeating Mechanicsburg’s 2503.

Gracie Hood led the team with a 413 series, including games of 234 and 179.

Haylee Yelton contributed a 409 series, while Chloe Heminger posted a 364 series and Avery Mullins finished with a 359 series.

The Varsity Girls Bowling team ended the season with a remarkable 15-1 record.

They will next compete at the Sectional Tournament, which will be held at Woodman Poelking Lanes on Wednesday.

In the JV girls’ tri-match, Bellefontaine earned a solid win against Mechanicsburg and Troy.

The team finished with a total score of 1990, ahead of Mechanicsburg’s 1816 and Troy’s 1781.

Kinzie Bernard was the top bowler for Bellefontaine, posting a 361 series with games of 182 and 179.

Isabelle Gunnett added a 328 series, while Addison Prosser contributed a 276 series.
