Lady Chiefs knock out Bishop Carroll

Kassi Prine collected three hits in four at-bats, as the Bellefontaine Lady Chieftains defeated Bishop Carroll, 16-3, on Thursday.

The Lady Chiefs won thanks in part to nine runs in the first inning.

Seven different players grabbed RBIs in the inning.

Bellefontaine continued their raid in the top of the second inning after Chloe Heminger hit an RBI-double to center.

Joy Fogan started the game for Bellefontaine.

The lefty gave up five hits and three runs (two earned) over five innings, striking out five and walking three.

Tatum Browning takes the loss for the Patriots, allowing nine hits and nine runs (eight earned) over two-thirds of an inning, with no strikeouts and a walk.

The Lady Chieftains amassed 19 hits in the game.

Addison Wical, Prine, and Ava Watson each collected three hits. Watson, Heminger, and Fogan each drove in two runs for the Bellefontaine Varsity Chieftains.

Browning drove the middle of the lineup for the Patriots with two RBIs.

The pitcher went 2-for-3 on the day.

The Lady Chiefs travel to Versailles on Friday to take on top-seeded Greenville in the district final.
