Lady Chiefs, Lakers, and Pirates roll to wins; Raiders fall in softball

Benjamin Logan’s Varsity Lady Raiders came up short against Northwestern on Monday, falling 7–2 at home.

Chloe Crumm pitched four innings in relief, allowing three hits and three runs while striking out three and walking two.

Adilynne Gregg started the game and took the loss, giving up four runs on eight hits over two innings with one strikeout and no walks.

Offensively, Crumm led the team at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3.

Tanna Jacobs and Bryleigh Burnside each drove in one run, while Sidney Sallee added two hits in three at-bats.

The Lady Raiders will look to bounce back on Wednesday, hosting Northwestern in a rematch.

Riverside 9 Jackson Center 6
Despite trailing by five runs early, the Riverside Varsity Pirates staged a comeback to defeat Jackson Center 9–6 on Monday.

The Pirates pulled ahead in the bottom of the fifth after a single by Aubree Huston and a defensive error allowed two runs to score.

Riley Dillon hit a two-run home run in the sixth and earned the win in the circle, pitching a complete game.

She allowed nine hits and six runs (three earned) while striking out seven and walking three.

Huston and Taylor Dillon each collected two hits, while Riley Dillon led with two RBIs.

The Pirates totaled six stolen bases in the game and will travel to Troy Christian on Tuesday.

Bellefontaine 14 Urbana 1
The Bellefontaine Varsity Chieftains exploded offensively in a 14–1 win over Urbana.

Laila Butler led the charge, going 3-for-4 with a double and two singles, driving in three runs.

Joy Fogan delivered a strong performance in the circle, striking out 10 batters and allowing just one run on five hits over six innings.

Bellefontaine broke the game open with a seven-run fourth inning, highlighted by Butler’s two-run double.

The Chieftains added six more in the sixth on five hits.

Kassi Prine, Addison Wical, and Ava Dolan each had multiple hits, while Fogan and Cozad drew two walks apiece.

Bellefontaine totaled 11 hits, drew nine walks, stole four bases, and committed no errors defensively.

Butler had a team-high 10 chances in the field.

The Chieftains head to Tecumseh on Tuesday.

Indian Lake 14 Graham 2
Halle Roby blasted two home runs and drove in four as Indian Lake rolled to a 14–2 win over Graham.

Roby homered in the first and fourth innings, also doubling in the second.

Bre Wisener added a solo shot in the third and collected three hits on the day.

Indian Lake scored three in the first and three more in the second to take an early 6–0 lead.

The Lakers added five more runs in the fourth.

Wisener pitched a five-inning complete game, giving up just two hits and no runs while striking out six.

Roby, Wisener, and Annie Rapp all went 3-for-4, while Brylee Buyer, Izzi Mackesy, and Mackenzie Dixon also had multiple hits.

The Lakers stole five bases and turned a double play.

They’ll host Graham again on Wednesday.
