Lady Chiefs Regional Runner-Ups; Others Move on to State


The Lady Cheifs earned runner-up at Regionals Saturday afternoon, scoring 60 points.

Moving on to state:

  • 1st – Kylie Adams 300 h 44.46 SPR
  • 2nd – Kelsie Snapp Shot 38’ 10 1/4” PR (Thursday)
  • 2nd- Kelsie Snapp Discus 132’ 7”
  • 3rd – Ava Reeves Long Jump 17’ 4 1/2” PR
  • 3rd- Alexis Robinson Discus 132’ 2”
  • 3rd- 400 Relay Parker Penhorwood, Kylie Snapp, Ava Reeves, Callie Shumaker 49.52 PR
  • 4th – Kylie Adams Long Jump 17’ 2 3/4”
  • 4th – Callie Shumaker 300 h 46.19

Other placers included:

  • 5th – Ava Reeves 100 12.56
  • 7th – Ava Reeves 200 25.74
  • 10th – Grace Brown 1600 5:32.51

For the boys, they earned 7th place at regionals:

  • 1st – Hayden Manns discus 159’ 7” (Thursday)
  • 2nd – Hayden Manns shot 52’ 11 1/4”
  • 3rd – Tony Stewart 3200 9:36.37 PR

Coach Robinson, “Kelsie, Haiden, and Lexi had a great Regional meet. They maintained their focus, supported each other, and fought hard on every throw. I am extremely proud of each of them and look forward to watching them compete with the best in the state on Friday.”

Coach Davis, “Tony and Hayden battled the heat getting out quick which was tough, but necessary. Tony to state and Hayden on the podium is outstanding.”

Coach Sigrist,” Far from a perfect day for the sprinters but the resiliency and experience is what makes them a great group. They have been working tirelessly since November and get to chase their ultimate goals at our second home, Dayton Welcome Stadium.”

The Lady Raiders track & field team placed 10th in a field of 34 teams in Saturday’s finals of the regional tournament.

The team entered the meet by qualifying from the District Championships with 10 athletes covering 7 of the 17 events in high school track and field.

The Raiders strongly showed in the meet to continue an outstanding season.

The team earned their ninth consecutive CBC championship, a fourth-place finish in the Southwest District meet, and one of their best showings in the regional meet.

Following are the results of the regional finals competition:

  • 4×800 relay – 14th place – 10:30.70-Georgia Bates, Lexi Archer, Hadley Boysel, Mylee Boysel
  • 100 High Hurdles: 1st place – Isabel Henderson (15.26) – State Qualifier
  • 300 low hurdles: 2nd place – Isabel Henderson (44.88) – State Qualifier.
  • 800 run: 10th place – Georgia Bates (2:22.48).
  • Long Jump: 2nd place – Isabel Henderson (18-04.50 *BL school record) – State Qualifier.

Isabel broke the school record (17-11.25) that she set at the regional finals in 2023.

  • Pole Vault: 9th place – Scarlett Elliott (9-06)

Isabel Henderson will compete in the Long jump, 100-meter high hurdles, and 300-meter low hurdles at the OHSAA State Track & Field Championships on Friday, May 31, and Saturday, June 1. The events will be held at Welcome Stadium in Dayton.
