Lady Chiefs season ends; IL 8th-grade boys advance to CBC title game


Tournament basketball action is underway for area teams.

Varsity Girls:

Bellefontaine lost in the first round of the D2 Sectional to Tippecanoe 43-33.

The Lady Chiefs finish the season 13-10.

Middle School:

Indian Lake’s 8th-grade boys held off Urbana 30-29 in the CBC semi-finals.

Grady Lantz finished with 11 points for the Hillclimbers.

The Laker boys will play Jonathan Alder, who defeated Northridge 37-32 Thursday evening, on Saturday at Bellefontaine High School for the league title. The championship game starts at 11:15.

Urbana’s 7th-grade boys also lost in the CBC semi-finals to London 38-33.

Drew Dixon had 10 points.

The West Liberty-Salem 7th-grade boys ran past Triad 52-30 in the semi-finals of the OHC Tournament.

Beckett Sullivan poured in 20 in the win.

Asher Cole and Zade Beileski each scored 9, Owen Hardwick and Reagan McCullough had 4 points each, and Brayan Gullett, Austin Markin, and Liam Barger all had 2 points apiece.

The 7th-grade Tiger boys improve to 17-0.
