Chiefs sweep Butler to advance to District Finals

The Bellefontaine Lady Chiefs volleyball team continued their postseason run in dominant fashion Monday night, sweeping the Butler Aviators in straight sets: 25-20, 25-23, 25-16, during district semifinal action at Xenia High School.

Bellefontaine put together a complete team effort, showcasing toughness on defense, strength at the net, and sharp execution on offense.

Defensively, the Chiefs were outstanding in the back row. Jillian Ullom led the way with 20 digs, followed by Ava Layman with 16.

Kelsie Snapp added 14 digs, Kaeleigh Flora chipped in 10, and Madi Zedeker tallied 8.

At the net, Bellefontaine was a force, collecting 19 total blocks.

Alayna Boyd and Layman each finished with four, while Flora, Snapp, and Zedeker added three apiece.

Presley Vigansky contributed two more to the total.

On the offensive side, Zedeker set the pace with 39 assists, spreading the ball efficiently across the lineup.

Snapp led the attack with 15 kills, earning her double-double; Layman followed with 14, Flora added 10, and Vigansky chipped in 4.

From the service line, Layman delivered 3 aces, while Ullom added 2, and both Snapp and Vigansky recorded 1.

Vigansky was perfect from the line, going 12-for-12.

With the win, Bellefontaine advances to the district finals on Saturday, October 25, at Fairfield High School.

The Lady Chiefs will face the winner of the Turpin vs. Western Brown matchup, with match time still to be announced.
