Lady Lakers Advance; Raiders End Season

The Indian Lake Varsity Lakers defeated Bellefontaine 8-0 on Thursday thanks in part to seven runs in the fifth inning.

Geona Spires singled, scoring two runs, Katie Roby singled, scoring one run, Halle Roby singled, scoring two runs, Kayleigh Zedlitz grounded out, scoring one run, and Porscha Davis singled, scoring one run.

Madison Brentlinger led things off in the circle for Indian Lake Varsity Lakers.

The right-handed pitcher gave up zero hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out six and walking two.

Vigansky opened the game for Bellefontaine.

They gave up six hits and five runs (four earned) over four and one-third innings, striking out one and walking one.

Indian Lake piled up 11 hits in the game.

Spires, the number nine hitter for Indian Lake Varsity Lakers, led the way with two runs batted in.

The outfielder went 1-for-3 on the day.

Number eight hitter, Mackenzie Dixon, showed the depth of the Lakers’s lineup, by leading them with three hits in three at-bats.

Haylee Edwards, Porscha Davis, and Katie Roby each collected multiple hits for Indian Lake Varsity Lakers.

Bellefontaine turned one double play in the game.

The Benjamin Logan Lady Raider softball season came to an end after a 12-2 loss to Kenton Ridge in the Sectional Final game Thursday night.

Offensively, the team had a combined six hits.

Each of the four seniors had a hit in their final game.

Kyndal Cronkleton went 2-2 with an RBI, Bailee Stover tripled and scored a run, Brooks  Myers added a hit and an RBI, and Libby Siefring had a hit.

Keeli Rostorfer also added a double and scored a run.

The Lady Raiders finished their season with a record of 16-7, and they earned Second Place in the Mad River Division.
